Deer Hollow Park/Playground

Our firm worked closely with the City of North Salt Lake on a design-build project to redevelop a large retention basin into a unique neighborhood playground/park. A main objective of the park is to provide opportunities for nature play. We developed a plan that features boulder climbing areas, a large “fell tree”, log  steps, and embankment slide that is integrated with mature trees and native plantings.

As a retention basin, the pre-existing site conditions had spring water piped underground. G Brown took advantage of this design opportunity to create a meandering stream for park users to enjoy.

Project elements include:

  • Fell Tree
  • Log Steps
  • Naturalized Meandering Stream
  • Log Bridges
  • Sand Pit
  • Tube Tunnel
  • Embankment Slide
  • Zip Line
  • Swings
  • Spinners
  • Pavilion (Existing)
  • Open Lawn
  • Native Plantings
